Help...crowd sourcing ideas

I'm about to head into the jungle. Yesterday fortuitously I met a journalist who has hone quite far into the jungle in the past met with people who have seen few white people at all.  He gave me instruction how to get there  proceed etc. If you were going to be in a place like that is there anything you can think of that you would want to know try to ask or bring back samples of? Of course im interested in ethnobotany especially for mental illness. The people are the Bora I think...any thoughts?

  1. Wow! Where to start?
Medicine: Question for the Bora people, if this can be translated, "How do they treat common ailments?"
In addition, do they define, believe in, understand, or treat mental illness? If so, how?

Question for you, what do you mean by "Ethnobotany?"

Brought back: No idea. What are you allowed to bring back into the USA?
Ooo! I know! Do they have a native, written language? Can I have a sample of the written language? I don't care what is written. If everyone does some version of signing their name? That'd be pretty cool, too. What does that look like? (On anything that can be written on and given to me.) :D

Performing Arts: Do they have that? What kind(s)?

I really could keep going. Please answer one, more or all, as you sit fit and there is time and ability to translate. WOW! What an opportunity! Super jealous! Thanks for allowing me to even ask. What other questions do YOU have? And if you get the answers to them, Could you share?

    NEAT! :-)
